Baha! Didn't undestand a damn word of that, except that he was having a problem, and good afternoon. I got that. Bahahahahahahahaha, but the dude was looking awfully serious, so what ever it was, hope he figured it out.

Beijinhos!

Jen:
I didn't expect you to understand this, I would be really surprised! But it is very difficult to translate, almost impossible. Anyway, I just wanted you to know this is a funny sketch, perhaps one of these days me or Nela will be able to explain this to you!!!

Kisses!

IsaLenca disse...

Tá mesmo giro é verdade...tentei colocar comentário a condizer...mas carreguei nas teclas erradas.Bjs

Jen disse...

Sim, mano velho, sim sim...you must explain, yes. In 30 something days, you must explain...

LOL

Paulo Azevedo disse...

Little sister, yes, in "30 something days", or so, I must explain this to you, but it will be a very, very difficult task, that's for sure!
But Nela will help me...
Isses! (Like "jinhos" in Portuguese...) :-)

Jen disse...

LOLOLOL! Well, no, Isses...hum, lol, I guess first: no one says "kisses" around here. LOL You'll never hear this from Americans, unless, of course, their Portuguese counterparts have said "kisses" first and then we'll say it. So, that of course, makes "Isses" next to impossible! LOL But, you know, there is a such thing as "Henglish" (ok not really but between the three of us, the language exists, lol!), and so I suppose we could say "Hisses" but then we'd be making those noises cats do when they are pissed off. Know what I mean?

LOLOLOLOL

16 days, 22 hours to go...

Kisses

Paulo Azevedo disse...

Little sister, I understood that, yes...
No kisses??? Dumb americans, we are always sending kisses to each others, as you already noticed...
Hyes, Hwe, Hsometimnes, Hspeak Hwith Hlots Hof hhhhhh, Hisn't Hit???
Kithththes... (like someone would say sometimes, with the tongue between her teeth...)
16 days, more or less 20 hours to go...

Jen disse...

Ha...those kisses just about get me into trouble around here. He's the dilemma...I am soooo used to writing them in emails to you all whom I adore greatly, that I have caught myself several times writing kisses to people here. It's even more interesting when I am on the phone with Nela or yourself and someone walks by and I'm all "kisses also to you" in the phone and yes, people wonder what the hell I am doing!! LOL But then, just explain these are friends from Europe and all of the sudden it makes sense to them! LOLOL Nope, we don't say that here, and we don't even have anything similar to that; although women will sometimes close emails with "hugs". We do not greet one another with kisses to the cheek, and it is some unspoken law around here to not step into someone's personal space. American's are strange, yes, we are probably viewed as cold, and this I understand. Even I was perplexed the first time a Portuguese woman staying here in my city greeted me with kisses to the cheek.

But when I am there...I wouldn't have it any other way. It is a nice tradition to have!

Kisses!
